How is BBL Therapy Performed?

What Can I Expect After BBL Therapy?
Following the therapy, a soothing lotion will be applied to your skin. Annie may also supply post-treatment care directions and may advise limited sun exposure. Otherwise, patients are typically able to return to their regular daily routine. Outcomes from BBL may be seen in 2 – 6 weeks following the initial treatment, but the best results will typically be seen after repeat BBL treatments. Annie will provide the recommended amount of treatments to achieve your preferred outcome.

Updated 9/6: I just finished my 2nd treatment of the Moxi laser. The results are amazing with no downtime! After one treatment, my dark spots were noticeably lighter, fine lines were diminished because it increases collagen production, and even the bags under my eyes were almost gone! I was about to take the plunge and do filler under eyes and around mouth, but with this gentle, more natural treatment, I don't need the filler! I also had chest & hands treated. Thank you!!! 6/18/2022- Per suggestion, I recently had a BroadBand Light (BBL) treatment done with Annie. I barely had any dark spots but wanted the therapy due to its focus on my rosacea found on my cheeks and chest. As this was my first experience, I wasn't sure what my overall results would be. I saw incredible photos of clients with brown spots that had a full glow up and was cautiously optimistic since my scenario was different. I can tell you post-treatment I 100% recommend the BBL! I had so many brown and red spots hiding deep underneath the epidermis layer of my skin. It was only a matter of time before they popped to the surface of my skin. Just the one treatment also helped tone down my rosacea, contoured my face, and gave me an even skin tone. So much so, unless desired, I don't need to wear foundation to even out my skin tone. Here's to summer ahead, sitting by the pool with only SPF and a hat for prevention. I no longer require a tint or CC cream! Annie is excellent, and I value her input and skills for gracefully maintaining my youthful look and preventing other issues before they arise. How many treatments will I need?
The number of BBL sessions needed can be discussed in your consultation as soon as Dr. Nguyen examines the condition of your skin. On average, patients reach their complexion goals after three appointments. Although, if you have serious sun damage, pigmentation, or discoloration, you might need more treatments. During your consultation, Dr. Nguyen will listen to your goals and create your custom plan. Your sessions will be spaced about 3 – 4 weeks apart so your skin can heal.
What areas can be treated with BBL?
Most areas of skin can be improved with BBL, although the most commonly treated areas are the face, hands, neck, chest, shoulders, and upper back. These are the areas that tend to have the most visible damage since they are regularly exposed to the sun. The hands and face are also most often affected by lifestyle and natural aging, so treating these areas may help improve your overall appearance. In your consultation with Dr. Nguyen, tell her about all your concerns so she can create a comprehensive treatment plan.
Is BBL safe for all skin tones?
The energy wavelengths in a BroadBand light treatment can be adjusted for each patient's unique needs, so BBL can be used on all skin tones. For your best results, Dr. Nguyen suggests you avoid UV (ultraviolet) light exposure (both natural sunlight and tanning beds ) for at least two weeks before your BBL session. Tanned skin has an increased amount of pigment (melanin), which can absorb the BBL energy and impact your outcome. Your skin will be extra sensitive to UV light, so you need to not use tanning beds and limit sun exposure while you are getting BBL and for at least 10 – 14 days after your last appointment.
